The latest version of Natural Engineer, version 6.1.1 SP1 is now available. Enhancements include the following:

• New Function: Validate Objects.
  • Provides the facility to validate the objects loaded in the Repository against the objects in the application library.
• New Function: Generate Application Metrics.
  • Provides the facility to generate missing metrics data without having to re-run the Load process.
• New Refactoring Phase 2 Option: Data Definition Module Selection.
  • Provides the facility to select the DDMs to be processed during the User View and Refactor Database Access processes.
• New Impact Report: Impacts by Impact & Object Type.
  • Identifies all the impacted items for each object within an application.
  • Using the HTML display option, provides full interactive navigation via hyperlinks to review the report details.
• New Function: Steplib Object Usage.
  • Provides the facility to review steplib object usage across all the applications loaded in the Repository.
• Field Viewer.
  • Enhanced to show object type information for each listed object.
• Object Viewer.
  • To aid readability, the "Name" column in the Fields group, has been relocated to column number 2.
  • For DDM objects, 2 new columns have been added to the Fields group: "Short Name" and "Field Type".
• Add Cobol Links.
  • Enhanced to improve the readability of the selected Cobol modules for a given Linked object.
• Application Preferences.
  • Function has been renamed to: "Application Properties".
  • Now uses a multi-purpose tabbed window to control all the various property settings.
  • New settings have been introduced and include: Application description, owner name and contact details; character assignments; file suffixes for Cobol and JCL objects.
• User Documentation.
  • External documents can now be attached to an object to provide further supporting information for that object. For example: program specification.
  • Keywords can be added to each object, providing a mechanism to group similar or related objects together.
  • Search Keyword option added to the application level User Documentation screen to facilitate the search keywords option.
• Impact Combination Search Keyword: REFACTORING.
  • The Similar Code Identifier option has been removed.
• Similar Code Identifier.
  • Relocated to the Refactoring Workflow - Phase 1 window.
  • New option added to specifiy whether fields are to be included or excluded in the marked syntax.
• Task Scheduler
  • Has been simplified to utilize .BAT files under Windows.
• General Problem and Error Corrections.
• General Screen Enhancements.
