The latest version of the Natural Engineer add-on component WebStar, version 4.3.1 PL2 is now available. Enhancements include the following:

• New Web Server support added for:
  • IBM® WebSphere® under OS/390 Unix System Services
  • Apache version 1.3.19 under Sun™ Solaris™ 8
  • iPlanet version 6.0.2 under  Sun™ Solaris™ 8

• Short Transaction processing provides the facility to run Natural requests via the internet. Short Transactions are when a request is sent to the Natural Server, the Natural Server services the transaction and returns the results back to the web browser.
  • Short Transaction examples:
    • List  objects within a Natural library.
    • List source code for a selected object.
    • Read a database file  and display record data.
  • Short Transaction data can be received in several different formats providing flexibility in reviewing and saving the data.There are no data size limitations, the data for each Short Transaction is returned until all data has been retrieved. Supported data formats:
    • Standard XSL
    • Standard HTML
    • Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF)
    • Microsoft® Excel®
    • Microsoft® Word®
    • XML
