Getting started with NATURAL CONSTRUCT is a lot less complicated than most people thing especially with this study guide in hand. Designed to give the student a basic background in the CONSTRUCT development environment, its methodology and its primary models used in building applications.

The student is given an overview of the CONSTRUCT subsystems, their functions and the editors used to create and maintain the individual models. The standards on which CONSTRUCT builds models and applications are covered along with the relationships between NATURAL, CONSTRUCT and PREDICT.

These models are incorporated into the course case study, an application built from chapter to chapter using many of the CONSTRUCT fundamental models: STARTUP, MENU, QUIT, BROWSE, BROWSE-SELECT, MAINT (with a side trip to the NATURAL Map Editor), BROWSE-HELPR, and the BATCH model.

User exits are discussed exhaustively along with a strong introduction to the .G statement models. The more NATURAL programming experience the student possesses the better prepared they will be for this book. An introduction to the Help Subsystem rounds out the course and puts the finishing touches to the case study. Works with Natural Construct 4.5.x.
